"I am looking forward to the European Grand Prix as it is held at one of the circuits I know. I raced before at Nurburgring in the Formula Opel Euroseries in 1999, which might give me a small benefit, although they have made changes to the first three corners. I was happy to get 10th place in Canada but of course I want to do more and gain points and podiums, so I hope the next race will be good. I also hope I can do a full qualifying session without having to run back to the pits!"

"We were in good shape early on but near the end of the session I lost all power and had to stop on the track, probably at the furthest point from the pit lane. The last ten minutes of the first session were lost while I got back to the garage and also I lost the first ten minutes of the second session while the team finished the repairs. We have been improving the set-up step by step and there is still work for tomorrow. But I found the circuit okay and the car feels alright, so I'm generally happy. It is very interesting to drive in Formula One at Nurburgring, as last time I was here was in Formula Opel in 1998. The changes to the first part of the circuit are excellent, as I think there are more opportunities for overtaking, which is quite exciting."

"It was a tough qualifying session for both of us. Somehow we couldn't really get the pace at this circuit, which is disappointing as everyone's working really hard. I can push very hard in qualifying now and understand the way the session is going. I think I got all the performance I could out of the car today and although 14th place is a bit lower than expected, it was all we could do. I worked hard and am pleased to have brought a reasonable result to the mechanics and engineers."

"I made a reasonable start and I was side by side with the two Toyotas and Olivier Panis, when Giancarlo hit me. It's a bit disappointing but these things happen. It is a very tight corner with everybody turning in, so I can't blame him. After the accident I decided to get on with the race and do my best, fighting hard even though everybody was lapping me. It was important for me to finish and bring the car back in one piece."
