"I have never raced at Magny-Cours, although I have driven here when I visited during the winter, with my engineer, to have a look at the circuit. We had the track to ourselves with a little Formula school car, admittedly in much cooler conditions than I'm expecting at the weekend. The EJ12 is looking good and we are hoping to have further improvements from Honda soon so I feel positive."

"We're in quite good shape today with no mechanical troubles at all. It was my first outing here in an F1 car and I found the circuit very smooth and good fun to drive, although on the approach to a couple of chicanes, visibility is a bit tricky. We had a good pace straight away and our tyres look quite competitive. I'm optimistic for tomorrow."

"We thought temperatures would go up during the session so we decided to go out early. Each attack was very consistent with small improvements each time. But the midfield is very competitive and unfortunately I lost places in the last few minutes. Until then I was tenth so I'm a little bit disappointed, although I think I did all I could."

レースレポート
"At the first corner I touched Panis and when we went into the gravel trap I think I may have damaged a barge board. After that I had a problem with understeer, but I was having a big fight with De la Rosa. Then, at the last corner, one lap before I was due to make my pit stop, I turned the wheel but the car just went straight on and into the gravel trap. Disappointing, but I was enjoying the race until then."
