"This is another new circuit for me, but at least much of it is new for everyone else, so for the first time I feel no disadvantage compared to other drivers. I drove round it two weeks ago with my race engineer in a road car, and I feel happy about it. The track is very big, wide and quick and looks really good. As the season progresses, I feel the team has improved with each race and we are really pulling together, so I am confident of a good result at Hockenheim. I am happy that Giancarlo looks fit to race and I look forward to having him back with us this weekend."

"This is the first time I have started a Grand Prix weekend with no disadvantage to everyone else, in terms of knowing the track. It is new for us all which makes it quite fair. We were quite competitive this morning, even on the greasy slippery surface. But as the circuit itself got more grip, somehow we dropped a tiny bit. It's difficult to interpret the times because it's a new circuit and you don't know whether teams are running with more or less fuel than us. I am fairly optimistic for tomorrow because the car's handling is much better and I feel I can push hard. The circuit looks very different from the original Hockenheim track. My initial view is that it is nice, smooth and quite wide. It's enjoyable to drive, with a good long straight and quite an impressive opportunity to overtake at the hairpin."

"Today brought good results for both of us. It was frustrating that I lost about 15 minutes during practice this morning due to a problem with the exhaust, because we spent some of the qualifying session improving the set-up and it was work that we should have done in practice. We managed to fix the oversteer problems I had at the beginning of qualifying but we could have improved more if we had started qualifying from a better position, so that was a shame. Still, this is my best qualifying result this season so I'm quite pleased. I will do my best in the race and hopefully I will get a better start."

"Eighth is my best finish so far which is a great result for me. It's a shame it wasn't inside the points, but I am getting closer. I had an exciting race, overtaking a couple of people with some dramatic moves, which was really enjoyable. The pit stop strategy worked well. At the end of the race I lost some stability with the car, but I kept going. Looking forward, our good form is a promising sign and points are my next target."
