"Since then my heart was always in F1, but I
never had the chance to enter racing because you need outside help from a lot of
people. Finally, ten years later, I seized an opportunity and went to the Suzuka
Racing School. I was 20 years old, which was the upper age limit, and I was so
pleased to grab that last chance. Fortunately I was the fastest and won a
scholarship which started my racing career."
プラクティスレポート
"Not bad. It's always nice to have a run in
front of a big crowd and the massive support here is very good. The car is
working okay but Suzuka is so technically challenging for the tyres and chassis
setup, it's difficult to get the balance. We found a decent set-up today and
we'll carry on the work tomorrow."
クォリファイレポート
"I'm so happy. That was my best qualifying
result all season and one of my best moments in a Formula One car. The team made
a great recovery after a difficult morning with my engine problem. The mechanics
did really well and James, my engineer, did a brilliant job. The car was good, I
was comfortable and drove exactly as I wanted to. I just nailed it! The fan
support here is superb, they reacted as if I had won the race and it was just
qualifying. Realistically the race is still going to be tough, but my target is
to score points."
レースレポート
"That was
incredible! One point was what I was after, but I've scored two, which is
excellent for the team. I really appreciate what the team and especially the
mechanics have done. The car was really good and the strategy, tyres and engine
all worked together well today. The crowds were unbelievable, waving at me on
every single lap and I saw everything! It was great and I appreciate the fans.
This is one of the best feelings in my life and I'm so happy to score two points
for the team."
