"We are confident heading to Malaysia, as
the car has proved to be reliable. I was personally disappointed not to get a
point in Australia, but I think it was a very good start to the season for the
whole team, which is very focused. I genuinely think we will have a better
package in Malaysia, as we have some aero revisions available, so I'm really
looking forward to it. I have only raced there once before but the track is
great and it is a really good grand prix. It was only built recently, and you
might expect that it would be less challenging, but Sepang is so unique and the
high-speed corners are always very demanding, as are the heat and humidity.
Fitness is very important, and I am going to a physical training camp in
Langkawi for five days to prepare before heading to Kuala
Lumpur."
プラクティスレポート
"I had a problem
with the brakes which compromised my running and I ended the day having
completed only 10 laps, which is quite disappointing. We have a lot of work to
do this evening and a lot of laps to do tomorrow morning in preparation for
qualifying. Generally, a tough day."
クォリファイレポート
"I'm obviously very disappointed to finish
qualifying like this. I hit a bump in the high-speed turn 11 and just couldn't
catch it. I was pushing hard and could feel that it was a better lap. After such
a difficult start to the weekend I felt we had made good progress this morning
and it all started to come together in that qualifying lap. The car wasn't
damaged thankfully but I will be starting the race from the back row of the grid
which is very frustrating. I feel we have a strong race package and I will
certainly be fighting hard to improve my situation tomorrow and get as close to
a point as possible."
レースレポート
"Obviously it was extremely disappointing that
we weren't able to finish the race with only three laps to go. The car was very
strong and we had good race pace. Unlike many of the drivers, we chose a
two-stop strategy but it was working very well. I had a very good start and was
determined to make up places off the grid. I was up to 11th by the end of the
first lap and then obviously I wanted to keep pushing because I knew a points
finish was within my grasp. Unfortunately I made a mistake at turn 6 at the time
when the track was starting to get damp and as a result I went off. I was able
to rejoin the race and I just put everything I had into getting back into the
top 8. I concentrated hard on every lap and it was great to be racing with the
Renault at the end. Despite the disappointment, I'm very happy for the team and
we have shown today that there are some very exciting race performances to come
from all of us."
