"My test plan for today was to complete the preparation for Imola, but I haven't been able to set any timed laps today because the weather hasn't been very good in Paul Ricard. It's disappointing for me as I have only raced in the San Marino Grand Prix once before, in 2002. Having said that, Jenson has had good conditions in which to conduct his testing here, and he has set some good lap times with the package we will be using next weekend, so it looks promising. In addition, from the testing that I conducted in Barcelona last week, I can see that we have taken a good step forward since Bahrain. Imola is a unique circuit; a good challenge with lots of high kerbs. The track is quite narrow and there are some tricky corners. I'm looking forward to it."

"Today has been a very good day for myself and the team. I have been able to do lots of laps with no problems whatsoever, so we have made very good progress. I didn't get the chance to do my pre-Imola preparation in Paul Ricard last week because of the weather and we haven't tested here in Imola like some of the other teams. This is a challenging circuit so I'm pleased to see the result today. We still have a lot of work to do for tomorrow, but so far so good."

"It was not a perfect final qualifying lap for me because I didn't feel that I had a lot of grip, so I'm not satisfied. I was possibly riding the kerbs too much in the last sector, but the car generally worked well and I think we will have a strong package tomorrow. It is great to have two cars qualifying so high at the first European grand prix, especially with Jenson's pole position. Our new package has been working incredibly well so everyone in the team and at Honda and Michelin should be very pleased with the results we have seen here. I am delighted that we have had such a good season so far and hopefully we can achieve another solid two-car finish tomorrow."

"It is a shame that I couldn't finish the race with only a few laps to go, since I had a very exciting start and there was a lot of fighting for position in the first lap. But then I struggled with the pace after a few problems with the gearbox at the start, which got worse. Nonetheless, we have seen another great team result here this weekend. I am very much looking forward to the next race in Barcelona at a track I know well from testing there so often this year."
